How to Check Computer details or System Information in Windows 7

It is very necessary to find the computer specs of your Windows 7 PC. Due to various reasons, you may want to know the system information on your computer.

Do you want to run the latest game, software, or application package on a Windows 7 computer? Every software package out there has minimum and recommended specs.

It is advisable to find and know the system information of your PC before you install any package on it to ensure the optimal performance of that software package.

Aside from that, you can also check the computer specs of a Windows 7 PC for casual or technical reasons; just to know more information about your system.

1. Launch the start menu

The first step is to open the start menu. You can do this by right-clicking your cursor on the Windows icon at the bottom left corner of the desktop screen, or by tapping on the Windows button on your keyboard.

2. Click on Computer

On the start menu, there should be some options. Find Computer and right-click on it, then there should be another pop-up of options.

From that list, left-click on properties to open up the computer information screen.

You can find your processor, RAM size, system type(32 bit or 64 bit), full computer name, Windows 7 edition, and if your device supports pen and touch.

3. Using Device Manager

On the Windows 7 system information screen, click on device manager to open the list of devices and drivers on your computer.

  • Disk drives.
  • Monitors.
  • Display adaptors.
  • Keyboards.
  • Network adaptors.
  • Batteries.
  • Storage controllers.
  • Modems.
  • Processors.

Select any device on the list to reveal the details about them.

4. Finding Harddisk space on Windows 7

To know the amount of space used or left on your hard disk, follow the steps below:

  • Launch the start menu.
  • Click on Computer.
  • Your local disk should be displayed on the screen total disk space information.
  • Right-click on the drive, then select properties. You should be able to find some information in details on the pop-up screen.
